Veg Barley Soup

There are soups that are full meal soup but at the same time they help in reducing weight too. Barley always helps in reducing the water content from our body. And when it is combined with different vegetables it becomes a full meal. 

Ingredients:
Barley - 1/2 cup
Green peas - 1/2 cup
Kabuli Channa (white chick pea)- 1/4 cup (optional)
Onion - 1 no
Tomato - 2 nos
Carrot - 1 no
Cauliflower florets - 1 cup
Beans - 10 to 12 nos
Garlic - 6 flakes
Green Chilly - 1 no
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Bay leaf - 1 no
Cinnamon stick - 1 no
Cloves - 2 nos
Butter -2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Vegetable stock - 2 cups

Ingredients:
Soak chick peas over night. Chop all the vegetables finely. Cut the cauliflower into very small florets. In a pressure pan heat butter add bay leaf, cinnamon sticks, cloves and fry a little. Add finely chopped garlic, grated ginger and finely chopped onion and saute them till they all become golden brown. Add the chopped vegetables, vegetable stock, green chilly, green peas, soaked white chick peas, barley and salt. Cover the pressure cooker and let it for 3 whistles. Once cool transfer to serving bowl and add a dash of butter and pepper powder.
