Carrot Halwa can be made in different ways in the traditional cooking method. Here is a halwa using Carrot Paste. I have also tried carrot halwa in microwave. But after learning to make dishes in the OPOS ways I did try carrot halwa in that method but that called for 25 mins flat. But after the introduction of flash cooking the halwa making takes just 7 mins. Will write a detailed post about flash cooking in another post.

So now let us see what are all needed and how to go about it. But believe me the entire recipe can be explained in just two lines.

Rub the bottom of cooker with just a spoon of ghee ensure it is spread over the entire bottom. Layer 200g sugar, 250g grated carrot, 5tsp ghee, 1/4 cup milk powder. Put the weight on and wait for either 7 mins or 20 whistles in max heat (1200w if it is done on induction top). Release pressure.

For easy understanding of the recipe:

Carrot - 250 gms
Sugar - 200 gms
Ghee - 5tsp
Milk Powder - 1/4 cup

Equipments to be used:
2 or 3 ltr cooker
The max burner of the gas stove
Induction stove (1200W)

The most important thing to be followed is proper layering. Rubbing the bottom of the cooker is for ensuring that the sugar does not gets caramalized. Layer the sugar on top of the ghee and then add the grated carrot. Add the milk powder and remaining ghee. There is absolutely no need to mix the ingredients. Find the end result in the picture.

To make the halwa more flavourful add elaichi powder after adding the milk powder.
Season it with fried cashew nuts.
Can also add powdered cashew nuts and powdered badam.
