To soak in water for about 30-45 minutes and then to be ground into a paste:
1. Dhania seeds - 1 tblspn
2. Jeeragam - 2 tblspns
3. Toor Dhal - half tblspn
4. Red Chillies -2

Other ingredients:
5. Tamarind - Medium lemon sized.
6. Tomatoes - 2
7. Asafoetida - 3 pinches
8. Curry leaves - 3-4 springs
9. Coriander leaves - for garnishing.
10. For seasoning - oil, mustard, and jeera.
11. Salt - as needed.

1. Soak the tamarind in water and extract tamarind pulp. ( about 4-5 cups)
2. Add finely chopped tomatoes, curry leaves, asafoetida, and salt to the tamarind pulp and bring it to boil.
3. Once the tomatoes are cooked and the raw smell is gone, add the ground paste.
4. Add some water according to desired consistency and paste. Bring it to boil.
5. Switch off the stove, season it with the items mentioned for seasoning and garnish with coriander leaves.
6. Enjoy with hot rice.

Since a lot of garlic is advised and good for post-partum period, if you like garlic, you can either grind the garlic along with other ingredients to grind, or add sliced garlic cloves in the tamarind water and cook.
