Paneer or Panir is the cottage Cheese commonly used in South Asia. This is prepared by curdling of heated milk using lemon juice or vinegar or any other citric acid. Paneer is considered to be lacto vegetarian. It is rich in protein and is used a lot in Indian Vegetarian cooking now a days. Though the making of Paneer and its usage is dated back to the Vedic Age, the recent times see a lots of its usage. It is also called as Chhana or Chhena. This is soft and crumbly and have a very very versatile flavour which can be used to make any kind of dish. 

No party or family dinner is complete without this Paneer. Lots of dishes which includes sweets, starters, gravies all are made using Paneer.
