Udupi Cuisine

Udupi Cuisine is one of the very famous cuisines of South India. It forms a significant part of Cuisine of Karnataka. The cuisine has its origin from the Ashta Math of Udupi who runs the Krishna Temple. The cuisine mainly consists of vegetarian dishes and also follow the Satvik tradition and donot use onions or garlic. Famous dishes of this region are Masala Dosa and Udupi Rasam. 

A full course of Udupi meal (in the order of serving) consists of:

Ajethna (Dry Subji)

Steamed white rice
Saaru - Rasam
Menaskai - Mango Gojju
Sambar
Sweets
Bonda or Vada
Kheer or Payasam
Curd and Buttermilk
